Blue Springs is located in Jackson County just east of Kansas City along Interstate 70 near the Missouri River. Blue Springs is part of the Kansas City, Missouri-Kansas metro area. Blue Springs' history is tied to the passage of settlers on their westward journey. Pioneers found the area to be a perfect place, due to the large quantity of cool and clean water from a spring of the Little Blue River; hence the name "Blue Springs". Just 20 minutes from downtown Kansas City, Missouri.                                                                             

 

The City has a population of 48,080, making Blue Springs the fourth largest City in Jackson County, Missouri and the city continues to grow in population by 1000 people per year.

The City of Blue Springs is approximately 19 square miles in size. Public parks and conservation areas in and around the City approximate an additional 17 square miles of dedicated open space.

Location: Fleming Park

This is a living history village and museum that contains original structures, furnishings, equipment and interpreters in period clothing portray the area's way of life in the mid-1800s. The authentic fields, garden crops and rare livestock breeds illustrate the lifestyles found in the 19th century. The progressive farming community extend across some 30 sloping acres making the community to look like the 1800s. The appearances of the 25 buildings at Missouri Town 1855 makes a authentic view that dates from 1820 - 1860.
